Heavenly Father
How wonderful that people like us
Have been brought into relationship with you
Sons and daughters of the Living, Loving God.
We come unworthy and unentitled
With no rights of our own
No righteousness of our own
But adopted and forgiven
Restored and renewed
We become brothers and sisters of the Lord Jesus Christ
And you give us a new name
The name of ‘Christian’
How precious to be identified with Jesus
How amazing to be his friend
How astonishing to have access
To the power of his name.
Save me from the lie of embarrassment
that the enemy seeks to lay upon me.
Help me to grow in my understanding of my identity in Christ
That I might live for your glory
So that others, might believe in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ,
