Almighty God
Glorious and Victorious
I confess that all too often
I fight the battles of life on my own
I depend on my own strength and resources
I try to stand up to the enemy unprepared and ill-equipped
And I ignore the promise of your help and the assurance of your victory.
Lord God, give me the confidence and discipline to trust in you alone
With the discipline each day to make sure that I am battle-ready
Walking in the knowledge that your promises are true.
Dressed in the armour you alone have provided
Equipped for whatever today might bring.
Knowing that you will never forsake
That ‘the battle is the Lord’s’!
