Heavenly Father
The assurance of the destination
The promise of the blessings
The expectation of the arrival
Should all keep us focussed on the journey
We are so easily distracted by the present
Tempted by the pleasures of today
Captivated by the things of this world
Weighed down by worries and concerns
We forget that we are citizens of heaven
En route to our father’s home.
Call us forward, Father
Speak to us again of your purposes
Stir up our longing for you
Teach us to travel light
Unburdened and free
Ready to serve our Lord
