If you love me, keep my commands. John 14:15
Lord, sometimes your words are crystal clear
With no room for confusion
“If you love me
Keep my commandments”
If we love you
We will keep your commandments.
If I don’t keep your commandments
My love for you is in question.
Lord, I squirm and struggle
Finding awkward texts and unclear passages
Which give me an excuse to say
“I’m not sure which commands you mean”
And yet, deep down,
And in the meantime
I know and understand sufficiently well
To follow and to obey
And to live for you, and in you.
Lord, I love you.
Help me to live a life of Love in Action
Which reflects your commands
Which blesses your name
Which blesses others
For your glory Jesus,
