Heavenly Father
Lord of every day
God of this day
We praise your holy name.
Thank you Lord for the longings you put in my heart
The longing to be close to you
The desire to live a disciplined spiritual life
With focus and routine and structure
Bearing fruit which blesses others
And brings glory to your name.
Forgive me Lord when I drift
When my spiritual goals seem like pie in the sky
And the things of the world steal away my commitment to you
Forgive me, and draw me back into your paths,
Stir me again with a desire for you
And a love for your ways.
In Jesus’ name I pray
