Clarion Call Day 306
Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendour,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all. 1 Chronicles 29:11
Almighty, All-Glorious God,
As we read these words
Words of glory and majesty and splendour
As we read the stories of old
Of Moses and Solomon
And your glory falling and filling and overwhelming
Of the mundane being transformed
Of lives changed
Of Jesus transfixed
Of priests and shepherds, and kings and disciples
Lord, we long
To know more
To see more
Of the glory and majesty and splendour of your presence
In our day, in this place.
And so in humility I come
Asking that my longing might be genuine
My hunger free of wrong motives
My thirst for you pure.
Show me, Father, how to ‘press in’
Into your presence
Closer to my Lord and Saviour.
AMEN
