Merciful and Loving God
Who has shown to me such astonishing mercy
Undeserved mercy, unlimited mercy
I thank and praise your holy name.
Again and again I have wandered
Breaking your commandments
Repeating the sins of my past
Ignoring your guidance
Resisting your Spirit
Serving my flesh
Pleasing myself.
Lord forgive me
Set me free from my sin
Release me from the patterns of the past
Remind me of just how much mercy I have been shown
And empower me to show such mercy to those among whom I live.
In the Lord’s name I pray.
