Almighty God
Who created the sun and the moon
Who brings each new day into being
Who holds the cycle of the days and seasons in the palm of your hand
I thank you for today and for all the possibilities it brings
Help me to use this day well, and for your praise and glory.
We talk with gratitude of the freshness of each new day
But many will waken today with worries and fears
that have stayed with them throughout the hours of darkness.
Be with each one Lord
May they know the closeness of your presence
And the peace that only you can give.
Bless them richly, dear Lord
In Jesus’ name.
