ARE YOU A MEMBER OF THE ISLA PARISHES CONGREGATION?
We have a number of regular attenders who have not yet joined the church and had their names added to the Communicants’ Roll. I imagine that there are all sorts of different reasons for this, but we would like to encourage everyone to consider membership.
We also have some previous members who for various reasons have fallen off the roll. We would like to invite you to come back on!If you are unsure of your status just ask the minister or Session Clerk
Membership is important for all sorts of reasons:
ØIt is a clear indication of belonging
ØIt encourages unity in the Body of Christ
ØIt expresses a commitment to the future
ØIt acknowledges pastoral leadership and authority
ØIt allows the individual to vote on congregational matters
ØIt is a powerful public statement of the health of our congregation
ØIt helps the minister and elders to know who belongs to the church family
ØIt provides a channel for encouraging spiritual growth and church commitment
